How long does the guttering last?
Ace continuous aluminium guttering has a 30 year product assurance from the manufacturer, however it will last many years longer.
The Lindab system of steel guttering is garanteed for 15 years but has a life expectancy of over 100! How’s that for value! -
Are metallic gutters more expensive than plastic?
Not necessarily, aluminium seamless gutter is comparable to plastic gutter with similar rainwater capacity. The materials are more expensive but faster fitting brings the overall cost down, so you get a far superior product fitted for a similar price.
Cast aluminium is accepted by most conservation officers for use on listed buildings as a replacement for cast iron. It looks the same, performs the same, never needs painting, and is about half the cost! -
My guttering leaks, how can you ensure your product will not leak?
Plastic gutter often leak due to wear that occurs on the seals at the joints as the gutter expands and contracts with temperature changes. Metalic gutters expand & contract much less, so there is no wear on the joints.
In the case of continuous guttering it is made from a continuous sheet of aluminium, therefore there are no joins to leak from, as in other guttering systems. -
Doesn’t it rust being metal?
No! All our metal guttering has a special powder coating which protects it from the elements. It won’t discolour, so never needs painting.
-
How is metal environmentally friendly?
Our aluminium guttering is made from 85% recycled material in a hydro-electric powered plant.
As it is formed & cut on site to the required size so there is no waste and as it lasts at least 3 times as long as plastic it requires less of the worlds resources to gutter your house.
